Mcintyre masonry Ltd carried out the stone cladding and insulation installation at Sciennes Primary School, Scotlands first Passivhaus school.
We produced a full stone shedule detailing the stones course by course with specific dressings required. We also planned the exact stones to be delivered in sequence on numbered pallets to allow us to manage the stone delivery in a very tight city site. Our experience supplying stone is vital in delivering a successful project on time.
Mcintyre masonry also installed the insulation. Passivhuas builds are highly insulated, continuous, and airtight thermal envelope using ”superinsulation” (thick, high-performance insulation) to achieve U-values between 0.10 and 0.15 W/m²K for walls.
Stone installation progressed well. Natural markings on this stone made for excellent variation stone to stone.
